i loved watching people play that when i was a kid. I don’t recall being to good at it.
I love seeing people excited about arcade games especially old ones.
watching the last expansion was great! when is another happening? Is this being talked about somewhere i am missing?I was reading what a owner was mentioning about this game. Maintenance is brutal things need repair or replacing frequent because of the intense game play. plus too noisy, it would be annoying standing close to it trying to play another game.
right on!
so it is Computer Space released in 1971 by Nutting Associates. Released the year of my birthday.
I think I have seen this cabinet before but when is the question I ask myself.
it comes in solid red, blue, yellow or green cabinets.
i watched a video of the game on Youtube and can honestly say I never saw a game like it.
It looks familiar but I don’t know if I ever saw it before. Very cool old game. the audio alone is amazing.
The cabinet is so awesome and so are the sound effects. What do you GGA guys think? Would you add this game to your mecca?
watched walk through again didn’t see it.
Found a similar yellow cab but controllers are different, looks like a different game.
Want to find out the name of this game also.
Cool Thank you GGA.HAN. It is very fun and very challenging. A jetpack-propelled explorer fighting his way through non-stop auto-scrolling stages. The music is awesome and sets the atmosphere for playing perfectly. It’s not easy i always remember getting worked up when i played it in the arcade eating up many coins too.
After the first few left to right flowing boards they go verticle upwards.
The first time i ever played it was in a arcade and it was different than any other game i had seen at that time and since then left a distinct mark in my arcade memory and is an all time favorite.
I just looked at the NES version on Youtube and didn’t think it be too different but it was more different than I thought. The NES version really don’t do the game any justice. The first board flys on by when on the aracde version it is slower. The NES version also enlarges everything I don’t like it at all.
If you play the arcade version you will see what i mean, much better graphics and game play.
Section Z is also on Capcom Classics Collection for PS2 and XBOX and it is just like the arcade version.
It was re-released on Capcom Arcade Cabinet for PS3 and Xbox 360 and looks like the arcade version on there too.
Here is a good description i got off the internet for anyone who never played it,,
‘You are an astronaut sent on a mission to infiltrate an alien base. All areas inside the base are labeled after alphabet letters, starting in section A and ending in section Z. Every five sections the player must battle a boss, thefore Section Z has 5 stages with bosses awaiting in sections E, J, O, T and Z (the last stage is comprised of 6 sections). Once the game is beaten it loops in a harder difficulty.’forget Marball Madness I never knew it was so quick and easy to get to the end. It could be great if it went real high.
WOW
and WOW again!
Thank you so much for getting Zoo Keeper! just found out this morning watching youtube.
You guys are the greatest and that is for real, thank you Doc Mack!!
I would have said GGA was the greatest even if you didn’t get it but WOW.
Seeing the side art of the machine right before going to sleep sent me into a spacey dream.(haven’t seen the side of a Zoo Keeeper machine in over 25 years!)
Groovy to say the least.
‘talking to your landlord about putting a second floor on’……..
That is amazing.
But please dont raise the $15 admission.
more on that in a new post.Super Space Invaders 91 instead of Pac Man Hearts.
